who am i?

For everyone trying to get their business off the ground I would like to help pave the way by detailing the efforts of my wife and me in our journey to start our dream business.

Here are some up front facts of live that we are facing now. I am a software developer working in Information technology for about 12 years now. While it started out with a big bang the day to day drudgery has drained me. Moreover, the voice in my head that is resentful for all the times I saved the day and/or built the next flagship product to hurl my employer into success while leaving me in the dark has all but eaten away at the exhilaration I once had. My wife is an Optometrist and works at three offices. She to is fed up with working hard and having someone else profit while she is stagnant on a fixed income and fixed dreams.

Today is the day we both declare to take a chance and go for it. We are setting out to take the required steps to start our own business. By now you’ve probably guessed we want to start our very own Optical. Today is the first day of the rest of our lives.

Actually let me get a little personal for a second to explain further. We have spoken about it here and there for the past year. We wanted this and to have a baby more than anything in the world. We are blessed to have welcomed our little girl in December 2008. Now with a renewed vigor we are setting out to build our dream life with daughter in tow. Our vision is to establish an Optical business where one room in the back would be reserved for our daughter to do spend time close to us while we work in our own establishment.

We will detail our trials and tribulation in this blog in the hopes of paving the way and making thing easier for those following us down the same road (I know there are many of you). Also, to use this blog as a tool to gather resources for our own success.
